Virtual Street Reality

Julian Beever sure can draw.

Julian Beever is an English artist who is famous for his art on the pavements of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium. Its peculiarity? Beever gives his drawings an anamorphosis view, his images are drawn in such a way which gives them three dimensionality when viewing from the correct angle. It's amazing !!!

Music Blog

This is a site worth coming back to: Aurgasm

I scout out music you've never heard and deliver only the finest. Expect music curiously different, yet simply enjoyable.

I listened to about a dozen songs, and I liked 80% of them. Try Lhasa De Sela, Lucas Santtana,? Boozoo Bajou, and Roisin Murphy. Unfortunately, the MP3s seem to disappear after a while. If you explore the archives, most of the music files are no longer available.

The amazing Octupus

Triumph the Comedic Dog cracking on tons of Star Wars geeks waiting out infront of the theatres for tickets.

Wicked Ukulele Skills

Listen to Jake play the Ukulele.

This guy is super talented on the ukulele - best I've ever heard, even though I haven't heard much of the ukulele.

If Dogs Ruled

You just can't go wrong with a Photoshop contest that deals with dogs. At Worth 1000: If Dogs Ruled.

The rules of the game are thus: Show what the world would look like if it were ruled by dogs. You can depict people, things, situations, advertisements, basically anything in a world where dogs rule.

Toothpick Cube

Art by Tara Donovan: Cube of Toothpicks, at Acegallery.net.

Installation artist Tara Donovan's hallmark is her use of ordinary mass-produced products in repetitive patterns and layering. Donovan has used materials as banal as plastic drinking straws, fishing wire, paper plates, tar paper, Styrofoam cups, wooden toothpicks, tempered glass and steel pins in her fascinating installations, quite often relying on friction and gravity to keep the piece together.

The obvious question (how many?) isn't answered.

Downhill Battle -- an amazing, energetic, imaginative copyfighting nonprofit group -- has spun off something called the Participatory Culture Foundation with the aim of making DTV, an open source video publishing, aggregating and viewing tool: in other words, a TV killers. They've just finished the MacOS beta of DTV (Windows beta to follow soon). Link

Canto Do Brasil

Sit back, turn up your audio, and check out Canto do Brasil -- an incredible experience by Geoffrey Hiller.

Returning to Brazil after 25 years I was captivated once again by the charm and beauty of the country. No doubt the Brazilians are photogenic subjects, but it goes deeper than the image. Compared to the paranoia of people I've wanted to photograph on American streets, Brazil is absolutely refreshing.

What a guy!

I'm not a golfer, but this is still pretty interesting: North Korean leader defies all the odds to card 11 holds in one.

It was a claim that would have made even Tiger Woods blush. Kim Jong-il, the leader of North Korea, has casually suggested that, during the first round of golf he ever played, he notched up a mere 11 holes in one.

Assuming he is telling the whole truth, and the course was more than a municipal putting green in central Pyongyang, the leader of the world's most secretive state defied astronomical odds to card his 11 aces.

Not only that, he also pilots jet fighters, writes operas, produces films, and can easily memorize hundreds of lines of computer code.

What a guy, what a leader.
